Is it ever just a pair of glasses?
They are so much more...

It is easy to take small things which help us every day for granted.

Take shoes for example, of course you have selected them to fit your style and maybe even to suit a purpose such as wearing to work or to go dancing, but they serve as a very important means to an end.

Without shoes it would be absolutely more difficult to walk around outside, and finding the right pair based on your size enables you to walk around as you like very much at ease.

For those in need of glasses, it is very much the same thing.

Following a sight test with your local optometrist you are then able to establish exactly what you need to see better and make the world around you clearer.

This is exactly what we strive to achieve for those most in need of care across the country every single day, most of whom are elderly and living with some form of dementia.

Age-related conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy are all commonly developed as we get older.

In fact 94% of over 65’s are said to be wearing prescription eye care, so it is vitally important to remember that the glasses they wear have been specifically created for the individual to see.

Glasses are much more than a way to help someone in need of care simply read a newspaper or watch television, they can make a significant difference to their everyday life.

We believe that we can enrich the lives of others through improved vision, enabling the person to better engage with the world around them.

To achieve this, our optometrists will always recommend what the person needs, and never what needs to be sold.

Following a sight test at home, we will always leave a recommendation based on the individual’s needs.

We prefer to focus on the person, so choice is always maintained at all times meaning if there is anything in the recommendation you want to change, you can!

Once the glasses have been confirmed by someone in charge of that person’s care, then we will create them based on their requirements.

We even engrave each pair with the wearers name and what they are for to make it easier than before to identify the right pair of glasses for what the person is doing.

With all that considered, it is fair to say that there is a lot to gain from having a correct new pair of glasses.

If anything, it is an investment in a person’s everyday life!
